HEARTH GROUPS ... doing life together

"It's the dead of winter in Susquehanna County.  The wind is whipping outside and snow is drifting across country roads.  The bitter cold angrily defies the warmth of the family hearth.  Gathered inside around the glow of a warm fire sit families and friends sharing stories of sled rides, snow days, and winters past.  As we shiver just thinking about Montrose winters, we're drawn to visions of a warm glowing hearth.

We're struck by the need within our church to build hearths, many hearths, to build them person-by-person with the mortar of transparent, honest relationships holding us together.  This is the role we see our small group ministry playing.  Their primary purpose is to build relationships that build others in Christ.  Yes, we'll study the Bible, we'll ask our questions, but we will also solidify relationships and build a hearth.  Our hearths will be a place of warmth and safety, a place where people can bring their pain, a place where people come to celebrate, a place where people bring their questions, struggles, joys and victories." The Truth Project (Friday evenings / 3 locations)  "Do you really believe that what you believe is really real?"  An in-depth Christian worldview experience

Whiter Than Snow:  An exploration of Psalm 51 (Sunday evenings / New Milford area) based on the book by Paul David Tripp.  This "Into the Heart" group invites you to ... "Come join us in our eclectic journey through the scriptures; Come with your views and insights and build together with us; Come walk with us, hand-in-hand as we speak with Him and grow with one another.

One Month to Live (Sunday evenings / South Montrose, Dimock area):  With eye-opening insights and soul-inspiring truths, One Month to Live will challenge you to embrace the life God has entrusted to you and to live it out moment by moment with wholehearted authenticity, honesty, and integrity. Based on the book by Kerry and Chris Shook. Called and Accountable (Sunday evenings / Montrose):  "A Biblical study ... God's purpose for every believer" based on the book by Henry Balckaby  The call of God to every believer is to an intimate and life-giving relationship with God, which is totally life-transforming and ultimately world-changing.  Take the journey into the world of God's purpose for every believer. 

A study of the New Testament letters to the Corinthian Church (Sunday evenings / Montrose).  What was God's message to the people of Corinth and how does it apply to you? Come with your heart and mind open to what God has to say to you through this Bible study. 

A study of the New Testament book of James (Friday evenings / location varies)  There will be plenty of lively discussion as we study through this very practical book of the Christian faith.
