Leaving Ordinary

Jamie Holbert, Tim Stevens, Nate Roszel, Steven Fahringer and Jim Fluck make up the core of the Evangelical Free Church of Montrose's music outreach group, Leaving Ordinary. The group is often joined in performances by Mackenzie Franssen and Eric Brush. "Leaving Ordinary" is a high energy worship band that plays modern Chrisian Rock.  Jamie Holbert, lead guitar and vocals, explained that a message from Pastor Rodney Clark inspired the name. "It's based on the Israelites, when God led them out of captivity," Jamie says, "They were filled with anxiety about leaving. Their freedom was in front of them but they were afraid of leaving everything they knew behind. Leaving Ordinary is about leaving behind the fear and anxiety and what is comfortable to pursue that freedom that comes from Christ." The members of Leaving Ordinary are unanimously vocal about the purpose of the band being to glorify Christ with their music.

Leaving Ordinary performs throughout the year at different events. They have played at the R.O.C. festival, music ministry events at the South New Milford Baptist Church, Relay for Life in Montrose, the 4th of July parade in Montrose and many more.

If you are interested in watching them perform, or booking them for an event, please e-mail the church office or call at 570-278-4500.
