Because my husband and I had little family living in Montrose, our LifeGroup at E Free was our family.  They were our support group--being loving, fun, and helping us feel connected with the rest of the church.  Since I was putting in long hours with different medical rotations, I was often under a lot of stress.  These people offered us such support through their prayers and caring attitudes.  Our faith grew through our discussions of the Scriptures and hearing perspectives from people of different ages.

We wanted to give back to the church through ministry so we got involved with the teens.  It was fun because their questions kept us on our toes.  Another ministry we helped was the English classes for Hispanics.  It was interesting and rewarding getting to know the people and learn about their culture on a personal level.

We feel that it is essential to get involved in the life of the church and reaching out.  In the book of Hebrews, chapter 10, verses 24-25, Scripture calls us to be an encouragement to others.  Even the book of James claims that faith without works is dead.  It's easy to go to church and not do anything.  We need to be involved.  We need to get connected.
