What keeps you coming to E Free?

“We had been church-shopping, but when we first came, I immediately felt comfortable, like I was at home.  Everyone was so welcoming.  People came over to us immediately and offered us a place to sit.

I was eager to learn and can say that I was and still do feel like I'm being helped to understand what the Scriptures mean.  The women of the church—various individuals as well as the Moms' Sunday School class and those in our small group have been so supportive to me.  For instance, I became a Christian in 2000, but didn't do anything with it.  The things I did all along, the way I ran my life, made it hard to make the transfer to the new Christian life. But as I watched other mature Christian women show me what it's like through their examples, I learned that it was possible.

Every person has something to teach, not just the adults, but the little ones as well.  The toddlers are so sweet, innocent, and soak everything up.  They show such openness. They just believe the Bible stories.  It's not just the goldfish snacks and the play dough; they really look forward to the story with the felt-board people and they will ask for a story to make sure they hear one!  This is the way we adults are suppose to be!  At first for me, living for Christ was hard.  But as I relaxed and didn't force myself to try so hard, I've noticed growth, even in my prayer-life.

As a new Christian, I didn't understand what prayer was about.  I couldn't find the right words and it felt awkward.  In the past year though, I've become a praying woman.  I feel and understand the power of prayer.  I have also experienced many answers to prayer from very small things to solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems.

Another step in my faith has come through a class I'm taking--The Bible in 90 Days.  I really look forward to it because I've never read through the whole Bible.  It's purpose is to get an overall picture of the Scriptures.  It's amazing how the Holy Spirit helps you understand them!  Because you have to set aside one hour each day, it has helped me learn how to prioritize my day.  This is so beneficial to me!

I now feel  like I'm in a position to give something back to our church.  I help out with the 2-year-old Sunday School class, nursery and Pioneer Girls.  I love it!  My husband and I so look forward to the times we have activities and meetings within the church.

We love this church!”
