Sylvia and Gary have been going to the Montrose Evangelical Free Church for eight years. One of the ministries that has impacted them the most is their small group. "We both thoroughly enjoy our small group. We're very fortunate to be involved in it. We really appreciate Chuck and Martha Scott - they're sweet people and we love 'em. It's very nice to be part of that group." Sylvia also says, "My favorite thing is Sunday worship. I also enjoy Ken Cuomo's Sunday morning Bible study. All of the teaching in the church is so good. I've got so much to learn and there's always someone there to teach me. I feel blessed to have people like that around."
When asked what role the church has played in her family, Sylvia said that "it has meant a lot to my family because, even though a good share of my family isn't around, my daughter and son-in-law were involved way back in the beginning of the church. They wanted us to get involved then but we already had a church at that point." Eventually, Gary and Sylvia went to E-Free and were blessed by the sound Bible teaching. "It's meant so much to us, just the two of us, to be part of a group that loves the Lord and praises Him, and it just flows over into your everyday life."
Sylvia said she has a hard time trying to pick out the most special thing about E-Free and says, "The whole church is pretty special. They're friendly, and not judgmental. You come in new and know nothing and people are thrilled to have you there. And that makes people come back more. It's one of the wonderful things about our church."
